Hit by Pitch and Elbow Guard

Over 4 games this weekend, 2016 son was hit by pitches 5 times. He is a RH batter and 2 times he was hit on the left elbow. Seems OK but has a fairly large knot (swelling) on the left elbow right now.

Do others recommend elbow guards? He is hitting very well right now and seems to hang in there on curve balls until the last minute.

One RH pitcher who bats left on our team uses one but I haven't seen any others.

Our 2016 wears an EvoShield elbow guard, as do two other teammates. More and more players are using this protective device.
