Newbie here, so please be patient.
I have reviewed the lengthy (18 pages) post regarding top hitting instructors in the Chicagoland area. One thing that I did not find mentioned in that thread or elsewhere is a discussion of the philosophies of the various different and well respected instructors.
After reading both Lau books and working with a couple of instructors that were in that genre, I was convinced that was the way to go. However, that darned persistance to know more and dedication to helping my son improve kept me in pursuit of further knowledge.
I finally stumbled upon the Steve Englishbey site (englishbeyhitting.com) and have been over there for quite some time know. One thing that I have come to appreciate is how important the use of video is to analyze hitters, as a snap shot cannot show how the hitter got to where he is when the photo is taken. In sum, I have come to really appreciate what is being discussed there as it relates more to how the body moves (or how you need to move the body) to function properly in a baseball swing.
Are there any Chicagoland area hitting instructors that teach the same rotational approach as Englishbey, as opposed to the linear approach proposed by Lau?
I am not really interested in discussing the pros and cons of either approach. I have conduted my due diligence and am comfortable with what I am looking for.
Thanks,
Mike
