Coach Patrick Anderson has been very aggressive in recruiting the best long island players. He has a very fine class committed for 2010. He got to several top kids ahead of some higher D1 programs. Some buzz around about over-recruiting. He was at many of our travel games this summer. He has been everywhere in the metro area. Our impression is that he is a very nice person, good baseball man, ambitious, hard working. Determined to build a big time program there.

Although Coach Anderson hails from
this local area, and are encouraged by
the sixteen Freshman and the JUCO's he has recruited, the facts remains is a 'quick' turnaround may be more of a pipedream than a tactical plan.

After a hiatus for several years, a Hofstra vs Terps three game weekend has been scheduled for first weekend in March 2010.

Historically, the CAA is somewhat volatile.

Spring CAA predictions won't be out for a couple of months, and most likely after the JUCO's are added to the roster in Jan. VCU may have been a bottom feeder, yet have been joined by three talented JUCO position players for 2009-2010. W&M may also struggle for consecutive years.

Coach Anderson was out our way last summer checking out possible prospects. (Its hard for socal kids to have to think about snow!)

Yes Pat Anderson is the coach, he was in the Kansas City Royal Org. I met him a few times last summer and seemed very sincere and straightforward. No beating around the bush. I would think he'd be a good coach to play for

VCU predicted tied for 7th, currently in 1st
OD predicted for 4th, currently in 9th
Delaware predicted for 5th, currently in 10th
George Mason predicted for 6th, currenty in 3rd
Hofstra predicted for 11th, currently in 6th

I watched Hofstra play this year. They have nineteen freshmen on their roster. A lot of players left the program. The parents of a senior told me they feel like the outsiders not knowing many of the parents.

Hostra Fastpitch won Regular Season CAA Title

Hostra Baseball, with seven conference games remaining, could be making a run toward
the CAA Tournament, which is very very close and undecided so far!

Imagine that!

And Coach Anderson has taken that to bed!

CAA Tourney question....I know they reduced the number of teams to qualify for this year.
Was it cut to six?

CAA tourney was cut from 6 to 4 teams...heard it was going back to 6 next year does anyone know if thats true

I think it is a two year deal, and to be voted on next year. Many don't see it being modified.

thats a bummer 4 out of 11 is tough
