I just came back from a college trip to Nebraska. I know what heat is now haha. I have total respect to everyone who does baseball in 100 degree weather. Good to be back!

102 for a high today in Boston. Thankfully I live closer to the coast so it should only be in the high 90's, which isn't much better. I do have a game today, but it's at 8 so it's not that bad.
AKB - Did you get one of those cool looking white rings on your hat?
nd943 - I just returned from Boston/Cape Cod on Monday. My son and TigerPawmom's son both pitch for Falmouth in the Cape Cod league. Had a wonderful time and pleasure of meeting TPM.
About the heat. Was a little surprised at how warm and humid it was although it cooled down pretty well at night. Noticed the 100 or so today and feel for my son as he is staying with a wonderful family in a nice house but no air-conditioning.
I swam in Atlantic off Martha's Vineyard and couldn't believe how warm water was. Loved the area and hope we get a chance to return next year. Stay cool out there!!

I am in a shipping container heading to China and you guys are worried about the heat 
Here in MD the high for today was 108, without the heat index thing. 
And I have a 4 mile cross country run today.

It may be hot, but baseball is worth all the sweat, and the nice pair of seams i habrandished on my forearm from a game on Sunday...
It's hot here, but we have the cool ocean breezes to make it liveable!

We tried to swim, for us it was too "chilly". I guess it all depends on what you are used to.
DK said the games today were brutal. He was at Fenway last night, it was hot but he was ok, he goes again tomorrow night, hope it is cooler.
Now we are beginning to prepare for possibly the first hurricane of the season!

It is extremely hot down here in S.FL during the day but TPM has a good point about the ocean breezes helping out. Don't worry about Hurricane Chris gaining any strength in that cool water out there right now. I mean very cool water indeed! On this side in the Atlantic around Vero anyway. peace, Shep
Shep, gotta mention that when I was in college in St. Pete we got evacuated so we all headed over to a friends house in Vero Beach. Walking the beach was almost as dangerous as going in the water! There must have been 1,000 jellyfish washed up on the beach because of the waves!!
The heat was just rediculous. We have 2 thermometers downtown, one said 101 and the other said 108, plus it was really humid. Trust me, I really do love baseball, but I don't think it's safe to play in that heat. I'm in good shape, not old or fat or anything that would put me at a higher risk, but I went for a walk and felt like I was going to pass out. That's how hot it was.
Its a nice balmy 68 here in alaska. No white ring, but a nice tan line haha. Creigton is wonderful by the way.
