cspkebaseballdad, sounds like Patrick is being well taken care of. I expect both he and Jacob Dempsey to get alot of playing time this year.

Phillp closed the front end of a double-header, struck out all three batters faced. Recorded his first save in a come from behind PJC win in the second game. Allowed his first hit (to short right-a flair out of the reach of the second basemen)(curveball). Current stats: 3IP-0Runs-1 Hit-0W's-1HBP-5K's and 1 Save. You know how I like stats. Cool
He says the coaches really like his hitting and defensively he has one of the best gloves with the strongest arm but he thinks they want to let the Sophmore's play more (to be seen) and to allow him to become accustomed to the role of Closer. They have ton of hitting (sound familiar).
BBDNB, send my congratulation to Zach on his HR.
Did he use the new bat? I hear Josh may be red-shirted! Wow, FA must be loaded.
cpkebaseballdad, CC put up alot runs on the board Friday, did Patrick get in on the action.
mitch23, Michael and UVA are off to a good start.

Phillip had his longest outing of the year yesterday. Normally the Closer, he came into the game in the 5th with score tied 3-3; pitched through the 9th. Team (PJC)won on a walk-off HR in the 10th 4-3. Phillip allowed 0 runs, 1 hit(single), 1HBP, 2 W's and 8 K's. Through 10 games: 10 2/3 innings pitch, 1 Run-0ER, 4 Hits(all singles), 2HBP, 4W's, 16K's. Earlier in the week pitched a perfect 9th, going through the 3,4,5 hitters, striking out #4. There were a half dozen scouts (2 MLB, KC and TB)in attendance at this game fora look at the teams starter. Former Clemson/LSU player(redshirt); has been clocked at 92. But after the game, Coaches, the catcher and others commented that Phillip had thrown harder(no gun). The 2b is still struggling at the plate, so he could see PT there in the near future, maybe today in Alabama.
Lawman,
Yes, at this point Scott is starting usually two of the three games during a weekend series. Like a lot of freshmen he's learning that college ball is a lot different from h.s. But so far he's off to a pretty good start. Kwan, Trai & Harold have all contributed early in the season. But when its all said & done they're all still freshmen & still make freshmen mistakes.

Sounds as if Phillip is off to a good start & congrats on that. Its good to see that a lot of the past Tidewater h.s. players are making good impacts on their college programs & I wish all of them continued successes on the field & classroom.
Congratulations to some former Great Bridge players off to a good start:
Mike Mitchell UVA, .435
10 for 23 with 3 rbi and 6sb
Matt Smith VMI, .417
15 for 35 with 7 rbi and 7sb
Chris Rahl W&M, .391
9 for 23 with 7 rbi 2 hr and 4sb

Congratulations also to William & Mary for taking 2 of 3 this weekend from 29th ranked Rutgers. Way to go Tribe!
can I brag a minute?? Son just called, had his first college appearance today (Craig Miles freshman Mary Washington) Struck out 6 of 7 batters he faced(one reached on error by catcher) the other player popped out to 2nd. MW won 14-2 over Gaundalet(sp). Anyway he has been hurt since last fall and been throwing again just for the last month. I am one happy pop. Thanx for letting me brag (a little0.
Congratulations to Brett Mooney (Salem HS ’01) on his perfect 5-5, 6 RBI day, as he helped extend the Longwood U. win streak to 12.

Brett, the team’s Junior captain (currently batting .441), is a leader off the field as well and is beyond his years in maturity. He aspires to make a career in coaching, and has already made a huge impact as Longwood’s ‘third’ coach. Good luck and success to Brett!
