That's cool. Made me think of one of my other loves...handmade cigars.
How'd you like that ring with the hook on it? I wonder if Gaylord Perry had one of those?

Great stuff.
Various non-big league baseballs have variety of types and amount of wool. Of course the raised stitches are not pressed (i.e. College, HS, Youth Baseballs) as the big league baseballs are.

I never thought about it one way or the other until one day my old friend brought over 2 dozen brandy new ML baseballs, and a couple cans of mud. He told me to have my boy, who was 11 at the time, practice with those balls when he was throwing with me or throwing bullpens with his team. Of course I had to ask why those balls and not the one’s I’d bought. That was the 1st time I got taught the lesson of the seam difference between a LL ball and ML ball.
Having caught him off and on until he had to quit after 2 years of college ball, I can tell you that he could make a regular ball do tricks in comparison.
And sew it goes...
That cool... I did think that much was put in to baseballs not even the pro.
