I thought the same thing. I'd almost rather swing and miss a bad pitch than watch strike three get called.
Beats me.. He froze like a scared rabbit.
Neftali Feliz could have rolled that ball to the plate and the outcome would have been the same. It's called fate, and the karma train smoked him after the Lee Strasberg acting job by Swisher in the 5th.

You answered your own question,TRhit. It was a clutch situation and we all know ARod breaks out in hives during those moments. Oh well Hollywood and Cameron Diaz are waiting. Or whoever it is this offseason. 
Feliz was throwing upper 90s and then he pulled the string.. it's hard enough to hit let alone against a pitcher throwing that hard behind 40000 screaming fans.
There's no way I would take that pitch had I been hitting.

It wasn't the worst thing in the world to walk Utley as Howard has more holes in his swing and is one of those free swingers who get into period streaks where they are almost helpless. That's 25 K's for Howard in this series and last years World Series.
Howard froze on a 90 mph slider that was just plain nasty. Not the last time that will happen, but there might never be as big of a situation. Great game.

Looking at the pitch track, it was inside the black at the knee. 3-2 count...can't take that pitch.
