If a student takes a gap year following his HS graduation. When he enters school, ,does he still have 5 years to play 4? Or does the gap year counts towards his 5? What if he accepts enrollment (not necessarily a offer to play ball) and defers for a year?
Curious as son (2022), like myself, will be a late bloomer physically and he will graduate at 17 and 10Mo, We would like him to consider a gap year regardless of baseball. Several of his teammates will be 19 at graduation and one will be 20 (re-classifier). He has only recently showed interest in pursuing baseball in college as he has been getting encouragement from his program about this season and been told with work he could play ball in college. (Growing 10 inches in under two years will do that 6'4" 155lbs).
