I agree with TR that kids regardless of age should be grouped by talent level not age. I dont think that it is fair to hold back a young talented player because he happens to be a year or two younger than the rest. And if an older player is not talented why not let him play with younger kids that are more on his talent level? Just my opinion.

Thanks. I thought I was the Lone Ranger. My older son is getting ready to graduate and may have a chance to get drafted. One of the big things the scouts talk about is maturity. I think a kid can mature faster if you pop the pacifier out of his mouth at an earlier age. It's amazing how much things have changed. Like TRHit said, what's going to happen to these kids when they get into real life? And by the way, mcdsguy, I would never join a fraternity.

TR and Coach May...please do not include me in a discussion or debate on the policies, procedures, by-laws and/or amendments of Little League baseball. I do not wish to discuss the benefits of grouping by talent versus age. I never raised an issue with these subjects. The virtues or failings of Little League baseball can be debated by parents who are into it right now....I have an 18 year old....and I don't feel qualified or involved enough to venture an opinion.....

I said in a previous post that all who sign up for Little League baseball....play....it was not a comment in favor or in opposition...it was just a comment....all those in favor of the good old days....go for it.....and/or petition Williamsburg for change...once again.. I'm not looking for consensus or agreement...it's a free country...we can differ....

I'm a product, by virtue of age, of the good old days...I also work in a high school and can see the results of what you call a "soft" approach....I call it a lack of parenting skills....call it what you want....

I will reiterate....

When a kid is trying his best at something that means the world to him...when he is making the grades, staying out of trouble...showing up for practices...trying as hard as he can...he deserves a little bit of compassion if he fails....that's my only point.

TR...my feelings and your feelings have nothing to do with the subject at hand....I think if either one of us had been cut from a team or fired from a job via public notice...we wouldn't be debating right now...
Go back and read the post. I did. I agreed with TR about letting kids play at their talent level not based on age. I never mentioned how I felt about posting a cut list did I? I have already been on record that I call each kid in cut and not cut and talk to them in private. But hey its ok you can lump me in with TR anytime. I dont agree with him on everything just almost everything.
Coach May...what is your problem? The postings speak for themselves....I know what I read....and I stand by my statements....all of them. You can agree or disagree....it really doesn't matter...but I do think we have all beaten this horse to death.

Finally....I like TR, respect the work he does, to help players and parents...I've followed his advise, and been happy for it.....I wouldn't lump anyone with him....he is too unique. I might disagree with him...once in awhile...but I appreciate him.....very much.
