Anyone up there know how Nick is? I heard he left his last game with something wrong in his arm. I really hope its nothing major.

I heard he was going down to Alabama to see the best elbow Dr. in the country. Is it just tendonitis, pulled a muscle or what? I really hope its not a ligament in his elbow.
Jeez, thanks for the update Bear. I have played with and against Nick for 4 years. He is probably one of the best HS pitchers I have seen. He reminds me alot of a mix between Jeff Allison and Scott Kazmir, I know you are thinking I am crazy. But with Nicks fluid motion (Kazmir) and his power (Allison), its there. Best of Luck to him.

Not sure I can follow you regarding comparison of LHP Kazmir to RHP Adenhart.
Kazmir bonus demands were unclear in 2002, yet the NY Mets pulled the trigger with the 15th-overall pick, and $2.15 M. Following
a short stint in the NY Penn, Kazmir is
dominating, although at 6'1" is not a big guy.
Kazmir tops out at 97 mph and sits at 95 mph consistently with movement and some command.
With a out pitch to LHH (slideball) his heat and breaking stuff is good enough for now.
A few think he may be rushed (and this year) prior to developing a consistent change and comnmand.
Nick A, on the other hand is RHP, whose
fastball explodes late. He will need a 2nd and 3rd pitch at the higher level, yet many are excited about a small adjustment to help him cease throwing across his body. This may yield 2-4 mph. He is a good athlete, isn't just a thrower, and has pitching instincts rare in a HS hurler.

Here is my thinking. Kazmir is very smoothe in his delivery as Nick is, I know he is left handed but this is just for fun. Nick has a great #2 pitch when it is on, his curveball is plain dirty, probably 2nd best in the HS ranks behind Homer Bailey or Troy Patten.
I would probably have to go with "E" right now. Without knowing the extent of the injury I couldnt say. If he as to get tommmy john, he will be a nice addition to the UNC team, if he doesn't a team should take a chance on him. The only thing is though HS pitchers have the lowest percentage of making it to the Big Leagues. If there is any question on his arm, why not go to college?

After speaking to Nick A's Mom last night at the ball park, Andrews has diagnosed a torn elbow ligament. They have decided to go through with the surgery and that Andrews has stated with rehabilitation has a high success for complete recovery. Mom also offered that the UNC coaches wished him well and hope to see him on campus in the fall with his rehabiliation program.
Of course Nick has stated several times "Why Me"? I am sure he would enjoy hearing from you!

I also just read a story about TJ surgery.
The article mentioned that Dr. Andrews had performed 350 surgeries in the last 2 years. Prior to that he had performed 350 in the last seven! So, the one per hour, while frightening to hear, certainly is possible.

D amn D amn D amn. I guess thats the funny thing with life and especially baseball... you can't get too high with the highs or too low with the lows. Its out of his control, if I would have to pick I would rather have it now then when I am in the big leagues. I will talk to him, thanks for the info bear.

Just got off BA website and Nick Adenheart has been dropped from their top 100 prospects list. This game we all love can be so cruel and unpredictable. A lot to bear for an 18 yr. old. Without much fanfare....suprisingly, Nick Adenheart signed his pro contract this week. The signing bonus included School & Surgery costs! Will be flying to CA for doctors end of week!
