Ok FriarFred - I don't think you'll like my answer.  But it is, why would you want any video of a developing/growing/emerging teenager's talents online any more than a couple of months?

Too much changes for young men month after month.  I would get them off...maybe never post videos again...and get your son live in front of target schools.

Justbaseball,

Love the answer and that is exactly what I was looking for.  Didn't know if coaches cared about the maturation process or not.  Gut was telling me to take them down and only have recent ones up.  Son has been doing a good job on reaching out to coaches, going to various showcases/camps with schools he likes present and keeping in touch with target schools as well.  This site has been invaluable with how to handle the recruiting process and has become the go to for all things recruiting.  Thanks again for input and they are coming down!

I have vids on a recruiting site but had the majority of his videos, some travel but primarily HS games on YouTube. I used the link so they could see his mechanics, breaking ball and athleticism off the mound. I got great feedback from several RCs along the way. Comments about quick arm action were the most prevalent. I actually had Butch Thompson tell me he really appreciated the edited, pitch by pitch vids i sent him prior to our visit as it allowed him to study my son as he hadn't seen him.

I have several videos of my son on his Youtube channel online, and I never plan on taking them down.  Its like home movies, let them store them so he can show his kids if so fortunate.

My son had a long list of target schools he contacted. We live near Seattle, his sister goes to school and plays volleyball in NYC, so he was open to going to a good school anywhere. He always hated that I made videos of him, but it defintely helped him with recruiting.  He was seen by a big 10 school via email and youtube, the coach liked what he saw and came out to watch him pitch at Area Code tryouts.  Fast forward a few months, after the initial contact and several official visits, he decided. The videos I used were straight run videos, not edited, showing whatever happened in the game.  The coaches that liked his videos mentioned that he pitches just like he does on Youtube.

I'd recommend straight run video, warts and all.
