I recently applied to the Stanford All-Star Camp and was put on the waiting list. I read on here that the best way to get in is if your invited. I wasn;t invited this year, I just sent in the brochure I got from their website. If I wanted to get invited next year what should I do? Should I write letters to their coach and see if he invites me.

Thanks.

We heard about the camp after my son's freshman year. Received the brochure, sent the money and got it back saying the camp was full at his position. He is a shortstop.

After (actually in January or February) his junior year, he sent in the money...he was a recruited athlete...there was room.

Had a great time; and, he directly attributes his signing with Princeton to his performance at the Stanford camp and the fact that the Princeton coach saw him at that camp and then recruited him for the Princeton Tigers, Class of 2008.

Easier to get invited after your junior year.

Have your coach call or write. It might help for next year.

In January of this year I called the baseball offices at Stanford and left a message. The recruiting coordinator called back and sent the application. When I talked to the coach he stated to get the application and money in very soon. My son (06) completed the application and we sent it NDA along with the check. He was accepted within one week. He is a catcher. Earlier we had to cancel the camp so a catcher position should have opened up. We await the return of the money, but expect no problem.

I would say get your applicaiton in early and you should be accepted.
