I have a kid batting nearly .500 with 8 HR, 15 Doubles, OBP approaching .600 Slg.% 1.00 or higher approaching 50 RBI in close to 100 at bats. He is a Senior in High School playing 1st Base. 5'11" 190 lbs and can run. As a Junior he pitched and was LA 5A All District Pitcher and All Region Utility. He banged up his shoulder playing linebacker his senior year in football so now he is playing 1B and pitching in relief just lately. Throws Mid 80's. He has one Community College showing interest. We have competed against players with numbers not even close who have signed with all Div. schools. Any Ideas why no interest?

At what level does he play in the HS spectrum in your region?

Approaching 50 RBI's in 100 AB's---what does approaching mean

If what you say is real and factural there is more here than we can extrapolate or perhaps the boy is not as good as you think he is since he plays in a state known for it baseball talent
He went to the Pro Day Best of the Best but it was a Saturday morning in Alabama after a Friday night football game and he was physically a bit banged up. He played in the LSL, Louisiana Scout League,(Wood Bat Scout League that was supposed to play throughout state at college fields for coaches) that that didn't turn out so well. Mostly rainouts and games played in front of no one.
We played in the local High School Summer League with his teammates. I thought his numbers and Senior Season would draw interest. I should have held him back in middle school. He's still 17 until June 30 so I was at least hoping for an invite to come in and be redshirted. While I am biased, the numbers are real. I guess his dad is his biggest liability. Only son, figured out things too late.
BayouE, scdigger is right -- you need to be sending this info to college coaches. Look at the websites of the colleges your son is interested in and there is usually an email address listed for the recruiting coordinator or head coach.

You need to cast a wide net and target lots of schools of all levels -- D1, D2, D3, JUCO. Honestly, even though your son is posting big numbers, it's impossible to say what level he is best suited for. While his bat speed might be just fine for high school ball with pitching in the low 80's, it may not be sufficient for higher velocities at top-level colleges.

Your son's main problem may be that he got very little exposure in front of college coaches. Summer league ball is okay, but not all that helpful from a recruiting standpoint.

There may be some colleges in your area having summer camps/showcases in June and July, and you should enroll your son in as many as you can afford. Pay special attention to the JUCO camps. Since it is so late in the game, many of the 4-year colleges may have already secured all their players for next year.

Best wishes to your son!
