We're playing a pretty tough fall schedule against JUCOs and smaller 4 year schools. Virtually every weekend for a couple of months.

That's a great thing. We'll get quality play against quality teams.

However, we're missing out on a couple of camp/showcases at schools we are interested in....

The kiss of death? A good thing? Bad thing? Thoughts? Advice??

If your son is a junior or rising senior and hasn't been seen by certain schools that he is interested in attending/playing for,..and those colleges are holding camps, ( perhaps others will disagree with me, but..... ), if it were us, we would attend the camp(s). As a matter of fact, even if the player had been seen before, we would probably still attend. After all,....it's also about getting to know the coaches and learning about their style of instruction, expectations, etc. etc., isn't it? In my opinion, the more you can experience and get to know about a college program of interest, the better.

I'm not sure how Fall ball works out in your area, but our experience has been that the Fall coaches, if given an early enough heads up- in advance, would allow a player to miss a few Fall games if they were persuing their college(s) of interest.

Hope things work out!

1BDad, who does your son play fall ball for? My son has the exact same schedule you are discussing and we are going to miss the last weekend of the scout team schedule because he is attending a Missouri State Camp.....
