I know many wish to play professional baseball. I found this step by step guide that purports to be able to eventually get you into the show!

Man, it's that easy? Had I known then what I know now.....
great post!
Here is my list:
1) Play as much as you can - anywhere and:
a) Hit the **** out of the ball.
b) If you don't hit the **** out of the ball - do it the next time.
c) Catch everything hit at you and throw the ball fast and accurately.
d) Always run like a wild dog.
2) Never pay attention to the naysayers.
3) Be nice to your parents
4) Play for the team and not for yourself
5) Probably the most important - eat large quantities of mozzerella.
Choose your genetic tree wisely.
... not all are drafted or signed into the major leagues right away. Most of the time, baseball players have to play for a minor league affiliate team before they are able to land on the roster of a major club.
Okay. Everyone get your pen out and write that nugget down. The author is really on to something there.
Post WWII, can someone tell me ANYONE who jumped straight the the Majors?

It's not from the eHow site, but from the equally searched Wikipedia:
My teammate at Michigan State, Bob Powell received a $40,000 signing bonus and played immediately with the Chicago White Sox with "Jungle" Jim Rivera and Bill Veeck's "cast" of characters.
Bob
Pete Incaviglia and Bob Horner went straight from college to the majors. David Clyde and Mike Morgan went from high school to the majors. There used to be a rule if players were signed to a bonus over a certain amount they had to go straight to the majors. Koufax was one.
Nice! Thanks for all the info guys...

They were listed on the Wikipedia page, but I think that it's worth noting that Al Kaline and Dave Winfield, both HOFers, never played in the minors.
Harmon Killebrew and Mel Ott are two more Hall of Famers that went directly to the Majors when signed although later Killebrew did go down.
Kaline, Koufax and Catfish Hunter never played a day in the minor leagues. Learned something new...
