1. Runners on first and second, ground ball to the left side, the runner on second is thrown out and the fielder throws to first but over throws it and the batter gets on and the runner oringinally on first moves to third. Is it a reach on error, sac, or fielders choice for the batter?

2. Batter beats the throw to first, but the ball was still thrown, and its a bad throw. Is it a reach on error or hit?

3. Drop strike three, catcher makes a bad throw, runner makes it. Still a drop strike three or reach on error?

Need to wait for the true umps to weigh in on this one, but I believe the rulings would be:

1. Official scorers judgement. E5 if it was clear that a good throw would have gotten him out. Otherwise FC.

2. Hit

3. Strikeout and E2. (could additionally be WP or PB if that was the case.), but E2 if he made it because of the bad throw.

Umps?
1. I understand you to say the lead runner was forced at third. Since in that situation you do not presume the DP on the relay, batter reaches first on a FC. Runner from first reaches 2nd on FC. That runner and batter then advance to third and second, respectively, on the throwing error. It is not an error to allow the batter to reach since you don't presume a DP in this situation, but an E is still scored when the runners advance another base.

2. Depends. Would he have been safe even if the throw had been good? Or was he safe because of the throw's being bad? If the former, a hit; if the latter, an error.

3. Score a K. Batter reaches on either a WP, PB or throwing error. Scorer's judgment on which was the cause of his being safe at first. A momentary drop followed by an errant throw on a makeable play is an E. A ball that got loose on the pitch would be either a WP or PB if the batter would've reached even with a reasonable throw, no E there unless the bad throw allowed the batter to reach 2nd or another runner to advance.

4. If he never once stopped or doubled back, possibly. But most likely it's a triple with a fielder's choice on the throw allowing him to score.

If it's a "run down" (meaning the runner stopped/reversed direction) then I'd think it would be a tripple.
1) The batter reaches first on a FC and then R1 advaces to third on the throwing error by F5.

2) Neither, the batter reaches on the FC (since the fielder chose to retire R2 instead of the B-R).

3) K and the Batter is out since first base is occupied with less than 2 outs. (I know that you didn't specifically state that there are less than 2 out, but there must be or the force at third in Q1 and Q2 would end the inning).

3a) if there are 2 out then Midlo Dad's answer is correct.

4) Midlo Dad's answer is right.
