How to score this play

I need to get myself a high school rule book sometime. I'm not an expert by any stretch and can't quote the chapter and verse...

But my understanding is its scored a hit in any code.

It can't be a fielder's choice because a fielder never had the opportunity to make a play. Since the only ways a batter can reach first base other than hit are: BB, HBP, FC, catcher's interference, error, dropped third strike, fielder's obstruction and it wasn't any of those, I'd score a hit...

Just me.

JMoff's deduction is correct. The NFHS scoring rule:

ART. 2 A base hit is credited to a batter when he advances to first base safely:

b. without liability of being put out because: a runner is declared out for being
hit by the batted ball (8-4-2k).....
