This is all completely new to us. My son is a 6'6" junior rhp, throwing 87 mph. his summer season was shortned by some elbow soreness and he is now rehabbing, going to gym and about to start throwing again, but no fall ball. I guess my question is, since he has not played on a high profile team (we're in a pretty rural area and don't know of any), or in any tournaments, he went to one showcase, where we were told he was definitely a D1 prospect, possibly if he fills out drafted out of high school, he has not gotten any feedback from colleges and is it too late or if it isn't what's his next step, how do we get his name out there were people will take notice. Thanks for your help.

It is a showcase, followed by a few games. It will give your son the opportunity to be seen by a large number of College Recruiters as well as Pro Scouts. It is a Top Tier Showcase and could easily be given an offer as a result of his performance at the event.

A tournament such as WWBA events held in East Cobb Georgia or Jupiter Florida are the most heavily scouted events on the planet (imho). Outside of these two events I am not sure what other tournaments exist that would provide the exposure that you are seeking.

Unless you are on a top tier travel team or have a couple highly sought after talent on the team, you will not get too much exposure playing in tournaments. Once your son becomes known and sought after, then Recruiters and Scouts may follow your games.

The Fall of 2011 is not too late to play in Jupiter if that will be his Senior year. You can look on the PG website and see that teams play in the WWBA events and contact them to see if they have a spot. A high 80's 6'6" pitcher should be able to find a team rather easily. TRhit runs a program up by you and travels to Jupiter. You should PM him.

Otherwise you can contact PG and they put teams together for players without one, as well as locate teams that attend the event to find a player a home.

This coming Summer will be the most important season for him. I would focus on finding him a program to play with then, that participates in the East Cobb events. This will be the season that will provide your son with his best opportunities.
