I've been working on a batter by batter baseball simulation game. It has some bugs and is not yet 100% complete, but I thought some may be interested.

It's best viewed in the latest version of firefox/moxilla and Internet explorer 8.Right now I have:

Misc.. HS teams online 2010
MLB teams from 1927-2010.
AA and AAA teams from 1952-2010
Japanese teams from 1980-2009 (they are listed with the major league teams)

I also have the ability to add college, high school, little league and more. Here are a couple sample games:

OHIO HS Baseball

2010 St. Edward vs 2010 Archbishop Moeller

http://www.nationalsportsranki...m_baseball&magic=339

MLB 2010 Texas vs 2010 NY

http://www.nationalsportsranki...m_baseball&magic=800

Here is the link to start your own game

http://www.nationalsportsranki...?option=com_baseball

Currently all of the teams/sport have the "DH" rule in place and you can only sub batter for batter and pitcher for pitcher.

Stolen bases are for the lead runner only.

There is also a bug in the play by play, sometimes the game will have a double play which is actually correct, but it won't say double play in the text.

I'm also working on pitching stamina, so if you've ever thought about making Goose Gossage or Mariano Rivera a starter here's your chance.

Try it out, let me know if you'd like any specific teams or states added on any level. I can get a team online for the lower levels (HS/College and below) with fairly limited information.

Again, it's a work in progress but users have found it fun, even though it's not 100% complete.

I also can edit any team, so if any team seems rated too high or too low let me know.

Users will soon have the ability to edit rosters and create teams.

Until then if someone wants a specific player or players added to a team, just post the information in the thread. For example. List the year and team name and the players to replace the generic names I currently have for each team.

2010 Auburn

batter 1 with John Smith

batter 2 with Bill Jones

etc.....

Pitcher 1 with Dave Johnson

etc.....

It's hard to find accurate information on these HS teams, I did the best I could.

I'm using actual statistics for MLB and Minor league players, I'm not doing anything illegal.
The statistics used to generate a "fantasy" game which I've based my game on, are not violating any copyright law.

Fantasy baseball leagues are allowed to use player names and statistics without licensing agreements because they are not the intellectual property of Major League Baseball, a federal judge ruled. My game is no different. I'm not using anyone's likeness or logo.

Baseball and its players have no right to prevent the use of names and playing records, U.S. District Court Judge Mary Ann Medler in St. Louis ruled in a 49-page summary judgment.
I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel. I know they exist. I've added other leagues as well and I'll try and develop them.

If you're looking for a ****ing match, look elsewhere. I'm just trying to get feedback on my game and let users know I have the ability to create teams on ALL levels.

Thanks for your concern about the player names, but I've researched this issue, and have contacted attorney's regarding this matter and I feel more than comfortable.

As far as using player names re-read my previous post.

Here's this year's all star game.

2010 AL vs 2010 NL

http://www.nationalsportsranki...m_baseball&magic=820

Teams in the database are made up of 12 pitchers and 12 hitters, so that's all I added. I used the same starting lineup as listed for the game. I also didn't use anyone who isn't on the active roster either. (injured players)

6 starting pitchers and 6 relievers for each side.

3 extra batters were added as well.

It doesn't have all 400 players that each team will have tomorrow night, but I thought it may be fun to play anyway
Users can now edit rosters, great for HS and College teams. The link is here.

You'll need a username and password if you don't already have one. Just sign up on the home page, it's free. Your custom team will appear below the other teams in the YEAR you place your team. It will have a *, next to it.

I've put together a few links based on the final game of a few world series. I started with 1960 and only have a few done.

I did the best I could with the line-ups/injuries. I'm also using a DH which wasn't used for these years, not exactly a perfect re-creation, but I think they'll be fun to play anyways.

ebemiss,

Great stuff,

Some might say I abused my starting pitcher. I did get the “pitcher is fatigued” note a few times.

Anyway my pitcher took the loss… He threw a 33 hitter, complete game, hard luck loss… 21-3.

I plan to use him again right away. It’s that ole “fall off the horse” thing.

Seriously, this is great, best of luck.
I'm in the process of adding 2011 HS teams.

So far I have teams from AR, AZ, AL, CA, NY, OH, PA and I'll continue to add more. Let me know which particular state you'd like and I'll push it to the front of the list.

I also have added division 1 and 2 college baseball teams from 2011. As well as 2011 College softball teams (D1 only).

I now also have MLB teams online from 1900-2011. Here's a sample HS Game from PA.

to play your own game go here:

Great games submitted by users or selected based on game results are now listed here:

http://www.nationalsportsrankings.com/bbgames.php

After each game is complete you can click the submit headline button and create your own newspaper style recap. Type in your headline, and your write-up. The game itself will select stars of the game and the play by play is listed below the box score.

Other "great" games will be selected throughout the day to appear on this page as well. This new page has made it easy to add submissions and will be updated all the time.
I've just updated all 2011 MLB teams through yesterday's games. Here's a game 7 World Series preview, Philadelphia at Boston (Halladay vs Beckett)

http://nationalsportsrankings...._baseball&magic=9639

2011 AAA and AA Minor League teams have been updated through yesterday's games as well.

Here's a sample:

Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees vs Gwinnett Braves

Ryan,
I don't have player names. Teams are set up based on team record, classification and a couple other factors. With generic line ups based on how an average hitter would perform in that spot in the batting order.

If you want to list the players 1-9 (as they would appear in the batting order, 3 subs and 7 pitchers from best to worst I can add the names.

If not register a username and you can edit a team yourself. It's free.

I don't mind adding them, I just don't have the player info.
I've just added MLB 2012 teams. Here's a sample game between Detroit and the NY Yankees. The game is set up for the user to play with Detroit with NY being a computer managed team. Here is that game.

Let me know if there are any glaring errors with the teams or a player I may have missed adding.

If not from them, where? I’m not trying to do something sinister here. I’ve been a huge advocate of a national HS database for years, and it seems you’ve found one. I was hoping to do a bit of data mining myself, but I can’t find the data.

You said “I can get a team online for the lower levels (HS/College and below) with fairly limited information.” What is the minimal information you need?

to start...the league or competition they play in, a won/loss record would help including how they did in the playoffs or sectionals. Anything that I can compare to any of the other thousands of teams I have information on.

Post information on a team or teams you'd like added and I'll do my best to rank them accordingly.
