I have been job hunting at the electronic version of a newspaper. Just for the fun of it, I popped in "baseball" in the search engine. It seems a couple of local High Schools are looking for baseball coaches. As interesting as these jobs may be, I could never swing the hours (I'm not a teacher Smile ), but it made me wonder.......

The job adds say:
Please mail letter of interest and resume to:.........

What does a HS coaches resume look like? What is the format? What do you list?

I know how to write a professional resume, just wondering what goes on a coaching resume?

Linear - I am confused noidea

cong - I saw some good resumes published already in the Coaches forum in the thread:

Who are you? Where do you coach?

Coach May's caught my eye but there certainly are other good ones in there also. You can also go to any college website and see how the school's describe/promote their coaches. These read like resumes. They usually list winning percentage, number of times in play-offs, play-off records and histories, number of players who have gone on to succeed at the next level, number of coaching awards if any, comparison to other coaches in similar class/situation, etc. etc.

I would suggest listing your playing resume (if you have played beyond HS) and your coaching resume at every level. If you have ever been recognized by a media source for outstanding coaching or received any awards, I'd add those. Other than that, not much you can put on it. Your philosophy and things of that nature have to come out in the interview really. Coach Knight
