3Fingeredglove knows for sure, but I believe that it does not matter if you are playing or not since you will still be considered a recruit in the eyes of the NCAA so the answer would be no. (You can for an NAIA school)

Actually, I'm not sure what the question is. If the answer below isn't sufficient, would you mind framing follow-on questions using complete words?

As a general rule, D1 and D3 coaches are not allowed to workout a player once he enters the 9th grade until he enrolls at that coach's college.

D2 allows one 2 hour session and requires a medical examination, etc.

California JCs don't specifically prohibit workouts, although allowable recruiting activities depend on how close the player lives to the CC. IF the CC is local, almost anything is OK.

NAIA allows up to 2 days of workouts, but the school can't pay any expenses unless the school does that for most students. The player can not lose any school time.

Unless the player misrepresents himself, he won't lose any eligibility for an infraction-- the coaches are supposed to know the rules.
