Independent. The Frontier League includes teams in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, maybe Ohio, and Pennsylvania I believe. I know the Gateway Grizzlies and the River City Rascals have had 2 or 3 get signed by a Major League team and even a couple who have made it all the way up to the Big Leagues. The Cardinals had a pitcher in 2006 who went from the Rascals and ended up pitching in the World Series I believe in the same year! I also think that Justin Christian? I think who is now with the Yankees (been up and down a couple times this year in left field) played for the Rascals.

It's decent baseball and it's a fun time. I've been to games in Sauget, IL (the Grizzlies) and in O'fallon, MO (Rascals). Very much family-oriented.
Thanks everybody for the kind words. It was a treat for us. He reminded me after the game that his last start in GCL for the Pirates (2004 before his knee injury)was a no-no combined in a 7 inning double header game. He was proud to inform me that he hasn't given up a hit in his last 12 innings as a starter. Being the cynic that I am I said, "now lets work on the BB's." Big Grin

Funny, I haven't heard from him in a couple of days. Wink

Thanks all. We all just want our kids to do well and grow up right.
