I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore

But I couldn't help being shocked yet again this past weekend. We were playing in a 13u tournament and saw a kid for another team pitch 4 innings Saturday. He then pitched a full 7 innings against us Sunday at 152 pitches. I don't know exactly what he threw Saturday but he was surely over 200 pitches for the weekend.

He wasn't very efficient but then neither were we. We left 2-3 runners on every inning and managed to score only 4. This kid was wearing a different uniform than the rest of the team since he was borrowed from another team from their local area. I asked him after the game and he said his parents weren't there. Made me feel even worse.

I asked one of their coaches about him during the 5th, 6th and 7th innings and it was obvious they were not counting pitches and didn't really care. He still "looked good" to them so they kept him in.
