While probably my favorite "tv surfing" sport it is the indicator that my favorite sport, baseball, is winding down. At noon I get to watch the Green Bay Favres open by beating Philly and then at 4 get to listen to the sons team play NY-Penn playoffs.

But a cool part of the day was sitting on the boat this morning @ 6:30 watching the start of the Ford Ironman that was in Madison. Can you imagine a 2.4 ml swim.... 112ml bike race....and lets finish with a 26.2 mile run with the winner finishing in under 9 hours. Those are all gas required events as far as I'm concerned.

rz1 at 7:30 this morning I was standing with 12500 other souls getting ready to run a half marathon. As you well know rz I don't possess that classic distance runners body. About 3 hours later, I have a whole new respect for those warp and twisted souls who challenge their bodies and minds with AAA trip type endurance events.

Not to long til Packers Bears.

I've run a marathon and done a mini-triathalon out of curiosity. I finished both events. I also decided I was out of my mind and announced my retirement to myself in each of the sports, effective as of the finish line.

When I ran the marathon I never realized the last six miles was slightly uphill from having driven it many times. It was like climbing a mountain when it was the last six miles of the race. As for the mini-triathalon, I'll never, ever run in wet shorts again! Pass the powder please.
