We are packing up in preperation to take our '05 to college this Saturday. I never knew a kid could have so much darn stuff to take to school.

Wow, I am glad they are a Freshman only once. His mother has got him two or three of everything, we'll be packed full for sure.

Good Luck all you Freshman heading off in the next couple of days.

Oh my goodness.....if you think your SONS have alot of "junk"....you should see my DAUGHTER'S bedroom right now in preparation of HER leaving for college next weekend! Roll Eyes Not sure exactly how my husband plans on fitting it all in the van! I know she's in for a rude awakening when she tries to get all those clothes into her dorm closet. Good luck to all of our freshmen heading out the door this fall and to all of our returning players!

Taking my sophmore/redshirt/almost-a-junior-but-after-the-transfer-credit-massacre-barely-a-high-school-junior to his new school early tomorrow; amazing accomodations: student apartment, private bedroom, private bathroom, connected to a shared with three other students furnished living room and kitchen, complete with washer/dryer and carpeted. My first house wasn't as big or as nice.

Two cars full of "stuff", but most importantly have to buy Madden 2006 for Play Station 2 on the way (priorities...). His biggest concerns, not in order: (1) getting on school's gorgeous baseball field, (2) finding his way to see the girl friend in Richmond, only 1 hour away now as opposed to 3 hours last year,(3) locate best area restaurants, (4) ATM locations.

Oh yea, and classes on Monday.

Good luck to all. I'll still have a little lump in my throat; Momma and son have had about enough of each other at close quarters...but she'll still tear up when we get away.
I keep telling my son we need to go get whatever he needs yet 'cause he moves into a townhouse on campus 8/28 for his sophmore yr. Can't believe he said this but he told me he only needs some shampoo, body wash and deodorant. Oh, and some razor blades! That's his total list!
Guess I'll be doing some shopping on my own. Asked if he brought home his egg-crate mattress pad. - Nah, it was torn. How about the desk chair so he can swivel and move around. Nah - left that at school too. I knew it'd be a cheaper yr. but I didn't anticipate it'd be this cheap!!
Two years at a JuCo seemed to be an excersize in socialism --- things came back with him I'd never seen, things I sent were missing. Didn't seem to be much personal ownership going on.

Then, after two summers spent in Europe with just a suitcase, he figured out he really didn't need much in the way of "stuff". Being the practical sort, his "needs" list to Mom for the Fall Term was 80% groceries!
