I think this was the right call

Mna on 1st and 3rd with one out. Ball hit to right and caught, both runners tag but R1 leaves early. Appeal at 1st for 3rd out. R3 run counted - I'm pretty sure the umpires made the right call in allowing the run. Is that correct?

As long as R3 touched home before the appeal out was recorded at first base, the run counts.
