I've been posting on this website for a long time...just clarify a point.
I am a staunch conservative, christian, and am not nor would I ever support the values, political econonmics, nor the positions of Democrats, their left-wing ideas...eg, same-*** marriage.
But it also is not my political philosophy to "follow" blindly just to be accepted. Never have been that way.
I stand up against what I perceive is wrong even if it means that I get the ire of the group for my stanch...I don't mind the heat.
And I also don't mind every forum that I participate in being closed because you can't stand the heat.
But to me the exchange of ideas is what's important, even if they are disagreeable. To me that what makes this country great.
The left does not believe in a free exchange of ideas...they believe in monolithic thought, adherence to prevailing paradigms and only managed and managed dissent.
That's not me...
What you perceive as a cross or burden is the sorrow I feel for the loss of individualism not only here but across our society.
