Hi there, whoever you are. Would you mind PMing me and telling me why you pulled down my original thread. You know I am avatar Tuzigoot, but unfortuantely I don't know who you are so I can't PM you. I contacted the IL moderator CoachB who saw my thread (because he PM'd me regarding it), but didn't feel its content required that it be pulled down, and couldn't tell me who pulled it down. And I contacted MN-Mom and she said that she didn't pull it down, wasn't notified by you that you pulled it down; and therefore couldn't tell me who you are or why it was pulled down either.

I've got 4 years on this message board, most of my posts are of quality, some of them facetious in tone like the one you pulled down, in a forum which could use a little more humor. Finally big Dave, aka Sully, saw it and wasn't offended by it either but you probably wouldn't care about that, right guy? How about a PM telling me who and why.

Tuzigoot did pm me and mentioned that he was trying to provide some humor into the situation. Tuzigoot, I might suggest, in the public portion of this site, that had someone (anyone including moderators) not known that, they might have percieved your post as "making fun" and not sarcastic humor. Sometimes "inside humor" or other "inside stuff" gets lost on a public site. That is not unlike a few years ago when I brought up a post and it's intent only to be pmed that it was a "setup" for a member on his birthday. I hope this makes sense!

Mamby-Pambies....all of them. Lively debate and differing opinions and personalities are much of what make this site interesting.

I guess there is no place for humor here. And perhaps an outsider from this forum wouldn't have a clue about "inside stuff" or the people interacting here no matter how much he observes the forum.

Sorry, but the political correctness taking over this forum isn't a good thing.
I don't know if "political correct" involves good discussion without attacking others. A good dig once in a while should not matter. However, the problem come when every thread is being overtaken by the bickering of one, two or three people. The original posters of a thread has the right to expect that a discussion remain pertinant to their topic. Moderators, right or wrong, have responsibilities that many members refuse to understand. To be honest, more than one or two moderators have said the heck with this forum. I have elaborated in pms to a few members the length that some members will go in response to some posts. We (moderators) then have to respond or take actions that protect not only ourselves but also this site. Personally, I do the best that I can. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I do hate it when Julie has to step in and do my job. She doesn't deserve it and to be frank no one has more time, effort and money in the upkeep of this site than her. She should never have to take those brief few minutes she has available to monitor what adults are doing on this site and for free.

If anyone took the time to read it, there were some good messages in it. Unfortunately, its seems like if some one wants to play in our tree house, your style matters; which I can sort of understand. One can put up a challenging post and if their smooth about it, it will fly. Others can put up a post with essentially the same message, and if their tone is overly direct, down it comes. So I was telling Sully to smooth it out. And I was askings the pertinent people that if he does smooth out to give him a break. Sort of good stuff IMO.

So, I don't get it.

Also, I'm tired of hearing that we are a cruddy forum. I'll be back to tell you why after I land this fish, I feel a tug on my rod.

I was wondering because I was going to use it in my next book (pamphlet)...(ok, it might just be a flyer), All I know about High School Baseball and other Late Night Profundities that solve world order.

Also, wouldn't the plural be, Mamby Pambii? As in, The parents were a veritable herd of mamby pambii...

Can I get some input here please?

I'm getting tired too!

"Namby Pamby?" Well there are worse things I've been called! What's the old saying, "call me what you like but make sure you call me for supper."
