Illinois Class of 2013 Commitments

Is roper committing to pitch or play sort stop? He seems to have a knack for both postitions but i am going to guess he is going for shortstop since thats what PBR lists him as for his primary position.

Not quite sure. Like you said, PBR has him listed as a MIF first and from what i've heard thats what he does best, but who knows, maybe he will end up being one of those special players that are able to go both ways in college.

They're are certain ways to get around this rule. In this case, for example, both of these kids could have asked for unofficial visits, in which case I believe anything is fair game as far as a coaching interacting with a player.

Yes Sparky, if you call the coach and/or show up on their campus, they can talk to you. They can also send you letters in the US mail. The are not supposed to call you or text you before July after your junior year.

Sounds like a nice tough strict rule. I applaud the NCAA for making such a stand.
