We'll be very interested to read your responses . . .

2013 is also getting some decent interest and he has attended two of their camps. I have to tell you that their frank discussions with the parents and players are very refreshing. Their compliance officer spent time with us also and even sent all of us her excel spreadsheet that allows us to plug in grades and it calculates and tracks the CORE course calculator for you. We have found their recruiting coordinator to be very candid in all conversations.

We have a family member with two close friends whose sons recently graduated from ISU and played ball there. They have nothing but the best to say about the institution and the program.

Having done several college visits/tours in the state of Illinois I can also tell you they most definitely give the impression that they WANT your son/daughter as a student and they have terrific first-year support programs to ensure success.

I realize that's probably not the exact perspective you're looking for, but I hope it's helpful.
Thanks for the information. That is what I am looking for. Anyone can look on their website and see their records, etc. This is the kind of stuff you dont see on a web site.

He hasnt done any camps but he pitched there in the fall (worst outing all fall) and they saw him throw this past weekend. They have been emailing and saying they like him, etc. My son wants to plan a visit next year when their practices start up and see things. He got worried yesterday when looking at the roster that they have only one guy not from Illinois.

Nice to know that they will offer support on academics, as he isnt the greatest student.
I have been hearing very good things about the Redbird program.
The MVC is a good baseball conference that has better balance recently, with ISU coming on to challenge Wichita State, Creighton and MO State in the top tier.

The Bloomington-Normal area is a good college town environment with easy highway access to St Louis and Chicago.

Geographically, the conference has some cold weather in the Spring, but the travel isn't too bad for away games in the conference.
I think the ISU program is a good one. Just a word of advice though. IMO they cast a very wide net and show interest to a lot of talented kids. Determining solid interest on their part and gauging potential offers is difficult. We got a lot of "we really like what you have to offer" after Bo Durkac saw Mood Jr many times this summer. When it came down to the straight up question if he was in their plans he got the "we'll be in touch in the spring" response.
