Hey ladies. Well, my son signed yesterday. He decided not to wait on the one DI he really liked and sign with the DII. I am excited because the coaches are great, its a wonderful school, its closer to home than any of the DIs he was talking to, and they won 50 games last year! We faxed the NLI back today. I told him right before we sent it "ok, are you 100% sure, because until we fax this you can back out" He said he was sure!! I think it is a good fit and they really want him. That is what all the wisdom of this site seems to point to.
I kind of teared up when it was going through the machine Its FINAL, my son is LEAVING. And, what will I do with myself all day, now that this decision is made and the recruiting process is over ??
Infield or ckrepps - any news??
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Thanks Shortstopmom, you know I am thinking about you and waiting to hear from you how things are going. And if you need to vent...
Thank you to you too, TPM, and every other helpful person on this site.
Anxious to hear how the rest of the moms out there are doing.

HitAHomer, congratulations! I just saw your post and am rejoicing with you and your family! Would you mind sharing which D2 your son will be playing for next year?
I posted in another area about my son's commitment, but he'll be playing next year at Dallas Baptist University. (That's the school with "Justin" and the boots!
Again, congratulations on your son's decision!

Infield08 DBU is a great school. My son has several old teammates there now and one who just comitted this month. My husband always liked talking to their recruiting coach at summer games.
Congrats to HitaHomer1 also. The chance to play at the next level isn't always an option for many boys and yours now has the chance to play the next 4-5 years. My son knows how lucky is having the opportunity to play after high school and he has 2 good friends that have been in the minors for 3 years so they talk about the differences between college and the minors. They all feel blessed in different ways although I think my son would have loved to have either of their signing bonus!
I still have 2 more to get through high school but I have learned so much with the first. Congrats to all the moms who have the chance to see their sons keep playing, we are very lucky!

Thanks everyone. I am getting more excited every day! He's already been accepted etc. so all that is behind us. We can enjoy his senior year. No more griping about getting essays written or calling coaches etc. .
Infield, he will be playing at Ouachita Baptist University. Congrats to your son as well. I know Dallas Baptist is a great school. They wanted my son to send a DVD and we just never got it finished .

HitaHomer1, congrats again! I know someone whose son is strongly considering Ouachita Baptist for next year. I hear they have great academics. And with 50 wins last year, sounds like they have awesome athletics too!

Congrats to your son! My son has been receiving literature from University of Dallas from the academic side. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the baseball side. I would love for him to stay in Louisiana, but he will go where ever the bat and ball will take him.

louisiana09, thanks for the congrats! That's great that your son has been receiving info from the Univ. of Dallas. I want to make sure you're aware that the Univ. of Dallas is a different institution than Dallas Baptist Univ. I honestly don't know much about the Univ. of Dallas' baseball program. I think it is Division 3. You may want to post a question about the program on the Texas Forum. Best wishes!

Yes, I understood they were two different universities. I thought maybe you were from the Dallas area and could lend insight to University of Dallas. I had not really thought about the baseball side of it untill I read your post. I really, really want him to stay close to home. I will need drugs and therapy if he moves more than 4 hours away.

I totally understand!
I wish I could help you more, but we live 5 hours from Dallas, so I'm not that familiar with other Dallas colleges. There are gobs of people from Dallas who regularly visit the Texas forum and I feel sure that many people could answer your questions about the baseball program at Univ. of Dallas is you post there.
