Im going through my whole recruiting process, transferring from a juco and i have been told be numerous D1 coaches (and i expected this) we are interested but we want to see you play before we make a decision and we may be out of money by mid june, which is the soonest theyd see me play in my summer league. or they say we have a full roster and cannot fit any more players but if someone gets drafted wed love to have you.

I'll be a redshirt soph. next season and ideally id like to get drafted next season, and i was thinking about academics, transitioning to a new school, other than last fall i havent pitched before, but im very confident in my ability.

So other than the possibility of receiving a scholarship offer late summer or walking onto a D1 school down south, i really have no interest in the D1's up here in the northeast, especially since I watched my friends DIII game this past weekend and i was VERY suprised at how competitive they were, these guys could play ball, and the only thing i noticed different between them and any D1 guy upnorth, is size (DIII was smaller) and theyre all extremely smart kids from all around the world intruiged by the DIII for its great academics (whereas most D1s up here seem to be HUGE party schools the baseball team is a huge part of that)

am i crazy since i absolutely believe next year i can get drafted fairly high to think going to a northeast DIII is a good fallback if i dont get the offer from the D1 school im really hoping for?

im wondering what are some opinions on this, sorry for the story but i figured some background would help to understand my thought process, im starting to scramble a little because i havent found a school yet that i have ANY interest in going to that has a spot, id atleast like to have one considering as the schools im waiting on to see me pitch might not see me til 3 weeks before school starts. Thanks!
