I watch four golf tournaments a year and today is one of them. Never forget Payne Stewart sinking a put to win, congratulating Phil Mickelson, and tragically - the next day he was dead.

Today, bogey, bogey, double bogey is how Tiger Woods has started the first three holes. He looks like he has lost all of his confidence and like he may never get it back. I can't believe I am saying this, but I am not sure if he can ever win another major title

I'm not sure it's time to write off Tiger yet. While Memorial isn't a major it's a significant tournament. Woods has won twice this year. he's still getting it in gear.

On another note, I heard a player refer to religion in what I felt was a very proper way. Many people don't want to hear "Thanks to Jesus Christ my Savior" when athletes win. They don't believe God picks winners and losers.

Webb Simpson said he prayed a lot on the last three holes and it kept him going. He framed it properly. His faith gave him strength to compete.

What was also interesting was how composed Simpson remained when he won. It must have been hard to sit and watch Furyk and McDowell fail knowing they had to fail for him to win. I don't believe professional golfers hope for others to fail. They would rather win on the green.
Not at all. He thought he was bullet proof and he found out he wasn't...his personal life has effected his professional life, happens all the time. He sees reminders he isn't bullet proof all the time. He's a different golfer now...he plays much like everyone else. Before he always knew he would win, so did the other guys. That wasn't the case, but it was mentally. Now he's no longer feared, he knows he's just another golfer. Now he doesn't know if he can win, he doesn't know when the wheels will fall off. Confidence and visualizing success is more important in golf than any other sport, in my opinion, because it's less physical. He may or may not win another major or two, just like everyother golfer out there.
