I know what i do is take like 1/4 of a broom stick and drill a hole in the middle of it and put a rope through the hole and tie wieghts to the other end like 5-6 pounds. Then hold the broom stick shoulder high and the rope should be at about your waist. Then roll the weights up and then roll them back down but be sure to roll both ways. You might have seen this in magazines like this product but you can make them on your own. This is more for bat control but it does brng more speed to your swing. You can also do hip drills with the weighted ball. If you need anymore info jst post a private topic to me
1. Get on a good conditioning program that includes weight lifting and medicine ball training.

2. Get three different bats, your own bat(regular), one three ounces heavier(overweighted), and one three ounces lighter(underweighted). Perform this routine 2-3 times per week:

15 regular swings
15 overweighted swings
15 regular swings
15 underweighted swings
15 regular swings

Using a wood bat defintely improves bat speed as well as practicing to hit with a much smaller sweet spot. Emphasize drills such as wood choppers and russian twists that focus on strength and power through your torso which is a very important part of generating bat speed.

HOT!!!!!
Just came from a training seesion at my good friends...his site is listed below. He has invented THE newest, sweetest, most state of the art hitting device around. If you are into hitting, bat speed, hitting drills, visit the site. My son and I were blown away by the bat and the drills. Improved his bat speed in 2 lessons by 3-4 mph.

Tell me what you think...he may also be looking for investors. Rshard....take a look. I'm telling you it will be BIG.

This may sound all out funny, but im about 5'8'' tall and 145lbs and i swing a bat around 75-80 mph. wat weights do is tighten your muscles in your forearms. you ever hear of keeping relaxed in the box? you want to develope muscle memory with your "quicker muscles" Swing often using a plastic bat. this creates that "snap" in your swing. in one week. aprox. 1000 swings later, i increased my bat speed more than i did wen i lifted or swung "heavy lumber". i gained around 4-5 mph. Also try a compact swing. Wat is the quickest way to go from poit a to point b? a straight line. try not to swing around the ball. keep your hands close to you body wn u swing. that is how u get some serious batspeed quik!

The other day I was watching one of the playoff games and the camera panned over to the player in the on deck circle. Tony Gwynn was one of the announcers. He was asked what he did to help improve bat speed. He said that instead of puting the weight toward the barrel of the bat it should be put close to the hands since the idea is top get the hands through the zone quicker. my 2 cents.
you can also drill a hole in the end of the bat and pour sand into it to make it heaver... but make sure you still use the proper techanquie or dont even do it... also if you have acess to a pool swinging underwater is supposed to help... forarm curls with dumbells work also... another way is put an inflated basketball on a tee and try to hit it as far as you can mainting the proper techanique. this will make you swing harder and it will become more natural to you and improve your bat speed...

try going to www.batspeed.com that was recommed to me but i have not had a chance to visit it yet... tell me how it is
