If it ain't broke, then ...

However, I suggest to be elligible for the draft, any player wanting to be drafted must submit to a drug test more comprehensive than done in either the minor leagues or major leagues within one year and then 30 days of the draft. The test to be paid for by the player wanting to be drafted. [This draft is really going to disappoint some teams later.]

I also would like to see a combine like the NFL to increase information about players. This would make it a more efficient system. Perfect Game somewhat helps in this regard.

Any other suggestions?

Some of the kids who get drafted are not in a financial situation to pay for a Drug test as stated. I think that is a great idea but I have never heard of having an employee pay for his or her own drug test. "Every draft has alot of players in it that do things they shouldn't do and have a feeling it will be that way from many years to come. The reason scouts have the jobs they do is to feel out a kid and determine his off field status as a person as well.

For the combine similar to the NFL it would be a great thing to have. But you would be bringing together around 1600-2000 draft prospects which would be a ridiculous size workout that would last 4-5 days if not longer.

There basically is combine workouts but they are for say the top 200 prospects only the combine workout is for the single team. That single team invites the player that they would like to get a closer look at to their facilities for one last showing. Alot of guys made flights last week down south to teams headquarters for these such workouts.
Can I cry bull malarky. If not, then I will anyway. BULL malarky!

The 1st thing that happens after the draft when a player signs and gets to his destination is a drug test. Be honest and just tell the scout of you have been doing roids or marijuana or something else. Will save you alot of problems.

Change the draft. There is no way HS and college players want what NFL and NBA players go through. And there is no need for it anyway.

The only way to fix the problem that baseball has created is to give every player the same amount for a bonus.

Give every player 100 grand. The players will be lined up to get on the bus to go play. The problem is everyone thinks that baseball is taking them for less than they are worth. When in reality MOST EVERY PLAYER is being OVER PAID when it comes to a bonus.

It will not be efficent as long as there is MONEY. Either you wanta go play or you don't. If its about the money, GO TO COLLEGE. but Pappa its NOT about a drug test. I'll assure you of that!!!
