Any suggestions on in season workouts for catchers? It's a long season behind the plate and I'm thinking some regular conditioning would help keep him sharp for the end of the season. Of course, we don't want to overdo it either. I realize it could be more specific to current condition, number of games played, etc. He's 15 so still growing too.

My 16yo tried in season workouts when he was 15 and didn't have much luck - had a couple of minor training strains which impacted his playing. He was working with a professional trainer, so it wasn't that he was making it up. My theory is that that 14-15 can be a very demanding time on the body anyway, with a lot of growth and changes. Plus, baseball takes up 6 days a week in the spring, which with school didn't leave much time for training.

He will likely try again this summer when he has more time. For the fall he will make a decision of whether he should play fall ball or really hit his training program hard.
