Hey,

Wondering if you would share how you handle your high school pitching staff in-season.  Currently I use a 4 day rotation/program.  It has worked well and fits our season schedule nicely.

What do you guys have for your pitcher rotation in season...Much appreciated!

What is a 4 day rotation/program for you? Is it going back to the #1 guy every 4th day or using all the starters in 4 days?

I don’t know if this will help you, but here are all the starting pitchers for the spring season games for the 3 different HS teams I’ve scored for since 2002.  See ====>

Did you get everything I sent, and what did you think about it?

I go with a once a week start with a possible relief appearance later in the week.  For example if a guy starts on Monday then he may throw in relief on Thursday or Friday.  This would replace his bullpen he would throw. If he starts on Wednesday then he may throw relief on that next Monday.  Each guy has a 7 day window to start, relieve / bullpen and get rest.

Obviously you still need to watch each guy and every guy is different but this gives you a structure to start from.  If a guy needs more rest then you give him more rest.  If you can give a guy more innings then he can have a longer relief appearance.

If the guy plays another position then you can help save his arm by not making him throw when taking ground balls or fly balls.
