Yes that will work. However i would do shorter rounds like 5 and also make sure to take at least 3-4 seconds rest between swings and like half a minute between series to really go all out every swing.
I would also prefer hitting balls with the bats but try swings do the job too.
Also make sure do so some lifting to complement that.
Do it like 3-4 times a week, most of the gains you make will come during the first 6 weeks.
