Good luck - it's going to cost you......a lot.

I'm heading out to football practice so I can say this kinda quickly is when fundraising look outside of the box. Don't just do the sell this or sell that or each player must sell this amount or is responsible for this much. To me from my experiences that is self defeating because it takes a lot of time and effort.

Obviously we all want a lot of money in a short amount of time with very little work. While that won't happen you can get creative with fundraisers that it doesn't seem like a lot of work (or its spread out) plus the guys don't feel like it's being forced on them. I used to do softball tournaments and my players would form two or three teams and play in it but when they weren't playing they had to help chase foul balls, work concessions and stuff like that. Took some planning and the parents were in charge of that but it worked out well and we pretty much made almost pure profit.

Golf tournaments go over great if ou do them right. One fundraiser we did but money wise was a colossol failure was a haunted trail. For whatever reason we tried it two straight years and it never really amounted to much but I will say this - we had a ton of fun doing it.

Things you need to look out for is permission from the school / school board and watch out for Title 9 problems.

Like I said - good luck and get ready to work.
We erected an 80x90 indoor facility about 12 years ago and I would give you this piece of advice. Make sure you have all (or the large part) of the money needed available before beginning the project.
Our booster club raised about $25,000 and we were able pour a slab, pay for plumbing and buy the metal building that we erected ourselves. But that tapped the account out. The two dads who were ramrods of the project had sons graduate, and I was left with this shell of a building with a couple of cages inside. It was nice to have, but not what we had in mind with the original plan/vision.
I consider myself a good fundraiser, but with trying to fund my own program and finish the indoor...it was slow going to say the least.
Luckily, the school (good superintendants!!) finished the indoor for us in three phases. Not something I would count on in most cases.

Incidentally, we raised over 10K with an auction held in the baseball parking lot. It involved members of the b. club getting items donated from around town, bringing "flea-market" type items from home, and taking items/equipment on consignment. One of our dads was an auctioneer and volunteered his services for the day.
