My older kid is a pitcher, so haven't really looked into MIF's before, but a couple of shortstops at a recent PG event showed incredibly deft 'approach' footwork when taking their warm-up grounders. It looked kind of like a quick cross-over shuffle to 'set' for the uptake of the ball.
Hope that makes sense and I hope someone can describe in words what is happening with the feet. I watched and watched but it was too quick - very impressive, though, and would like to work on it with son #2 who is more inclined towards the infield.
Can anyone offer a text guideline for this? Or perhaps link to a vid?
Thanks!!
