Four innings in a 7 inning game. Don't have my rule book handy and our season has been over for a month which is enough time for the haze to set in, but I'm pretty sure it's 3 innings in a game shortened by run rule to five innings.
Actually, the way its worded, its 3 innings for a game shortened to less than 7 innings for any reason. IOW, if the game is called because of rain after outs in the top of the 7th, 3 innings are all the starters need.
The ML rule is much more direct and understandable.
(1) five innings of a game that lasts six or more innings on defense, or
(2) four innings of a game that lasts five innings on defense,Oh how I long for the day when NFHS decides to accept modified OBR as their rules.
