Here's Mr. Blair's report:
quote:As the father of the Rock Falls catcher that severely broke his wrist during last nights game, I would like to thank all the support from the IVC fans and coaches. Particular thanks goes out to the father of the IVC first baseman (Radcliffe?) who came to the hospital to find out the status and ultimately provide some excellent background information on the doctor that performed surgery.
Update...not sure this is medically correct...he snapped the radial bone near the flexion joint of his wrist, pushing into the growth plate and putting pressure on a nerve or artery which ultimately lead to having surgery about an hour after getting to the hospital. Surgery was a success, but he is most likely out for the season but it looks favorable to play summer baseball to allow him to chase his dreams of continuing on after his high school days are over.
IF, anyone has the video of the incident, he would like to get a copy to see how it all transpired as he doesn't quite remember it all. If an IVC fan has one and can bring it to the game tomorrow night in Rock Falls, weather permitting that would be greatly appreciated. Or PM me with any questions.
Again, thanks to all the kindness of the IVC fans and hospital staff.
