Is there a change in rules between 7 inning games and 9 inning games on the amount of innings pitched to eligible for the win as a starter? I know it takes 5 innings in a 9 inning game!
In a Florida State game a pitcher threw either 3 or 4 innings in a "controlled start" and got the win because the team pitched a lot of pitchers and declared it to be a controlled start for the pitcher. The number of innings was pre-set before the game began.
