I just got done reading Dan John's "From the Ground Up" on his site for beginning olympic lifting purposes, and I think I came away with a quality in season program. The split is M/W/F and the routine is this:

Front Squat (clean grip): 8,6,4
Hang Clean: 8,6,4
Military Press: 8,6,4

I think this would work pretty well for gaining inseason and at the same time build a base for olympic lifting in the off season months. Suggestions?

Just a suggestion...

I would do regular squats instead of front squats.

Also pull-ups and its variations are a good workout for your back shoulders and lats. Try adding that to your workout.

I have heard of many people (baseball players) seriously injuring their shoulders from military press...I would stay away from this.

Hope this helps,

The purpose of doing front squats is that they are better preparation for olympic lifting than back squats.

I've never hurt my shoulders by playing ball and doing military presses and I've been doing these since I started lifting when I was 14. I read somewhere that the influx of shoulder injuries has been on the rise when the idea that overhead lifts were bad for you was spread. People stopped overhead lifting and weight lifting in America became "Weiderized" with heavy emphasis on bench and biceps, leading to postural imbalances in the shoulders.
