Are you talking about insurance that will pay out if a player gets injured and is not able to compete for a professional job? Like Willis McGahee?

There should never be such a thing for a baseball player, because there are usually no guarantee that the player will make it to the show.

But, I guess if J-Lo can insure her a$$ests, then you can insure an arm.

I'm not talking about the show. I'm talking about the draft. When you start getting an idea of where your son may be drafted and its in a top 5 round. don't you think it might be a good idea? How much is your house worth? Should there be insurance for guys like A-Rod, Delmon Young etc.. who knew they were top picks?

An answer to your question about A-Rod and Young, no. But that's just my opinion.

Persoanlly I do not believe in these insurance policies. If he is projected in the top 5 rounds, then he must be a pretty darn good player, and if he is I'm sure that he has a collge all lined up for the fall. If he is not drafted in the round planned or the offer after the draft in not sufficient, go to school, whether it be D1 or Juco, he'll have an opprotunity to improve in the draft if he keeps it up. Of course if he goes to a D1 he'll have three more seasons to improve his draft status.

Yes I have a home... but I'm not betting my home that someone gets drafted in a certain round. I live in Houston not Vegas. Wink

I have a life insurance policy that pays out if I die, but not one that pays out if I don't get that new job. Big Grin

Should there be insurance for a recent college grad who can't find a job?

Some actually do, they're called Parents! Big Grin

Thanks for the information.

Goveman although I respect you for your opinion, I did not ask for it. The policy is basically disability insurance.

I think any player that knows for sure that he is going to be a multi-millionaire in the June Draft and could afford the premium would be nuts not to purchase the insurance. The Policy doesn't cover you if you don't get drafted in a ceartin round. It covers you in case you get injured and are not able to play. Therefore, your college scholarship would be irrelevant also.

I know Rodriquez purchased the insurance and I know Lienart has. I'm not saying nor do I think at this point that my son will go high enough to stay out of college. I just cover my bases and like to be educated about the options.
