Has anyone had success with these? Do they loosen up easily? I have buy new cleats for my son and just wondering if I should consider these.

Thanks

We had good luck with the Adidas pair. I told my 6th grade son that if he made the middle school team I'd buy him a pair of metal cleats. There's just something abut that first pair of metals that make a kid feel like a ballplayer. He used the metal for middle school season and then switched back to rubber for part of a U12 season. Unfortunately I still had to buy another pair of molded before the season was over but the interchangeable worked out for what we needed.
We did not like them. Once they got covered in dirt, they weren't that easy to change. Losing the wrench or exta cleats can be troublesome.

Worst part is it seems the plastic cleats wore down much faster than normal molded cleats.

It's a nice concept though. Maybe they're made better nowadays. It's been 5-6 years since we used them.

When my son was 13 he used the Adidas Excelsior model. They came with metal & plastic cleats, plus plugs that could be screwed on and used like turf shoes. That was great for the indoor winter workouts.

He didn't have any trouble with the cleats loosening. I would guess, though he used metal about 80% of the time, and rubber the other 20%.
Does any company make durable lightweight interchangeable baseball cleats?
My youngest developed heal pain this summer when wearing his metal cleats. Ended up buying him some molded cleats & the pain subsided till he hit the rock hard football field in August. One of his buddys has the same problem & both of them do not like their molded UA's & Nikes... "too heavy". Both heard of another local ballplayer who was wearing Mizuno Watleys with the TPU cleats & swears by them. We looked over the cleats this boy wears, & not only were they light, but this kid plays a lot of baseball & his cleats seem to hold up very well.
