Interesting Conversation in Office (Balk)

Today a co-worker and I got into a conversation about pick of moves to 2nd base and using the inside move.

My coworker showed me his move (we both pitched in college) and at his balance point he would dip his front shoulder down before turning to second. He says it's 50/50 if he would get called for a balk. Which 50 % is correct? I feel it would be a balk because it looked like he was starting to go home before turning, but I played I didn't ump.

I lean towards a balk. Can't say for sure without seeing him in action. A dip of the shoulder could replicate a move to home or another base, or it could be nothing.

It sounds like a balk. Again, you have to see it but it sure sounds like a move home.

I'd have to see it, but if it gets balked 50% of the time, it is probably not a sound defensive strategy.

Seeing the move would be confirmation of course.....but given the fact that the user said it got him balked 50% of the time is pretty telling....

As I envision the move from the OP, it sounds like a balk 100% of the time.......
