Take a K and an e and an n and a t and a u and a cky. That spells KENTUCKY but it means PARADISE. Take a chicken and you kill it and you put it in a skillet and toast it golden brown. That's Southern hospitality.

(ONE OF THE FIRST SONGS I LEANED AT A VERY YOUNG AGE.)

TRhit, agreed. Sounds strange unless you consider it's the COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY!

I missed this when it was first posted, but here's a little history of the field/stadium.

Shively Field was built in 1969. It was named for Bernie Shively, who had been AD at UK from 1938-1967. I don't know exactly when it became known as Shively Field at Cliff Hagan Stadium, but Cliff Hagan was assistant AD at UK from 1972-75, when he became AD until 1989. He resigned around the same time as Eddie Sutton during the basketball recruiting scandal. So Hagan was more to UK than just a great basketball player.

My great grandfather use to sit on his porch and play a banjo or a harmonica. I've always thought this is probably where my love of music comes from. He came from very humble beginnings and would actually make a banjo from time to time (just for his own enjoyment). I have one of them somewhere! Enjoyable sound IMO!!
