It’s only for the top eighty rising senior prospects. It doesn’t change a thing for the recruiting process. The three week league will allow MLB to better scrutinize their top picks to avoid making a financial mistake. Always follow the money when looking for intent.
Please. They are not doing this for the kids. They are not doing this to make sure poor kids get a shot. They are doing this for their themselves. They get to make more informed decisions on players. I can only imagine the stress some people will feel if their kids don't get this opportunity and if they get this opportunity. Like RJM says it doesn't change a thing.
Basically Area Code, except they are in charge of everything and instead of 250 players its the top 80.
This is being created to save GMs and scouts from being fired.
If they are draft prospects out of high school, they are obviously the top of the class.
