Runner at 2b with two outs, RH hitter at the plate. Runner takes off on the pitch. Pitch is down and in fastball for a strike. Catcher throws down to 3b and hits the hitter in the back of the head. The catcher has poor footwork and the batter never moves. The umpire called interference on the hitter because he stood up tall in the box. I looked in the rule book and couldnt find any rule that the hitter has right away to the box but I also couldnt find anything that says he needs to move or make it easier to call out the runner. Whats the call and if its in the rule book where is it or is it just a judgment call that I dont agree with.

It's hard to say from your description--depends on what the batter did when he "stood up tall," but I'm not seeing interference in my mind. 7-3-5 is the relevant rule; look at Casebook 7.3.5e.
